Hal Filiar-Aguilera was heavily involved in a Christian church while secretly struggling with homosexual feelings. After years of an unsuccessful quest to become straight, he finally came out. Tangled in an unhealthy relationship that led to a meth addiction, Hal was on a path of self-destruction, until…he almost overdosed. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Hal now loves living in Portland, Oregon with his husband Don and their canine Tucker, and has been working as a technical designer for a local commercial AV integrator for the last 10 years.
He is an ordained minister and musician. Hal’s previous career iterations include courier, server, bartender, house cleaner, sound engineer, designer/draftsman, worship leader, music pastor, and professional guitarist and singer/songwriter.
